I prepared a Affective Paired Comparison (APC) questionnaire in SIMS 2000. I put together my own Experimental Plan (which differs from the APC Plan I normally use) and Experimental Design. When I try to create the SIMS 2000 Test Definition, I get a validation message saying that my Experimental Plan does not match my Questionnaire (APC). Please advise.
Thanks,

A: Affective Paired Comparison tests (APC) need to follow specific industry standard Experimental Plan and Experimental Designs, to ensure that panelist testing and statistical reporting all work properly and as expected. As with all of the Discrimination Tests, such as Triangles, DTR, DTC, etc.
Recommendations:
Use the standard APC Experimental Plan with your APC questionnaire, Experimental Design randomization options set to "As in Plan". Start your Test, select "Force Panelist to Register Sample Set", instead of automatic first come first server. You can now steer your presentation order by technician administration during the test.
Another alternative is to move away from APC and change your Affective questionnaire to use Y/N and/or Hedonic Attributes instead of Discrimination PC. This will allow more flexible Experimental Plan and Designs. You may to do your own APC Discrimination statistical calculations.

Affective Paired Comparison, Print Screen Example
- Remember that there are only two samples presented with a Paired Comparison.
- You can have any number of sequential monadic attribute questions, seen with All Samples.
- Then follow with your PC questions which are only seen with Relative Sample Order 2.
- A Page break is required between the two groups of questions as shown.
