Your SIMS Ideal Panelist Desktop

Start your SIMS panelists with one of the panelist icons shown on the print screen shown below. Do not allow panelists into the technician main menu areas of SIMS.

If your sensory team does mostly Affective/Descriptive Tests, use icon A1Panel as your favorite, Affective Room #1
If your sensory team does mostly Discrimination Triangle Tests, use icon Disc1Panel as your favorite, Disc Room #1

Whatever Icon you choose, it’s still easy to switch from within SIMS from one test to another, the Icon is just a starting location for the panelist.

The “Startup” folder shown is a special Windows folder which in this case will automatically start Affective Room #1. We recommend you choose the most frequent room desired for placement in Startup. Once in SIMS 2000, use your technician keystroke Ctrl-Bksp to quickly and easily switch from one room to another.

Panelist Sign-In Screen

Advanced: Technician keystroke Ctrl-Bksp displays your administrative action buttons.

Advanced: Button [Reconfigure this Station] to quickly and easily switch from one room to another.

SIMS software installation note:
All of your SIMS PCs for both technicians & panelists install the exact same SIMS software.
All PCs are the same. The difference is how you start the SIMS program using one of the Icon shortcuts shown above.
Icon shortcuts can be found in Windows Start | Programs | SIMS2000
