A. There are several methods to modify panelist test data.

  1. Edit Data directly.
  2. Delete a Panelist From a Result File
  3. Data Subsets
  4. Edit Test Result .DAT File in Statistical Analysis

Each of these options is discussed briefly below. See Post Replies
for more detail.

1. Edit Data directly.

  1. Select Execute a Test.
  2. Highlight the Test Result Code of interest.
  3. Click the Result Detail tab.
  4. Click Edit Data.

In order to use this method the specific Test Result must
not be actively executing in a room.

Data Edits made in this mode are permanent.
Use this method when changes are due to data entry error.
This method does not allow data to be deleted.

2. Delete a Panelist From a Result File

  1. Select Administrator from Pull Down Menu.
  2. Select Delete a Panelist From a Result File.

In order to use this method the specific Test Result must
not be actively executing in a room.

All test result data associated with the selected panelist
will be deleted permanently. After deletion, the panelist
would be able to retake the test from the beginning.

3. Data Subsets

Data Subsets is used to analyze the data based on responses
to a particular demographic question or questions.

Only Hedonic and Yes/No Attributes can be used as the basis for
creating a data subset.

Each such qualifying attribute MUST be seen only once, with either
a relative sample, or an absolute sample, or part of a test with
only one sample presented.

Use Data Subsets to include in your analysis only those
panelists who answered the qualifying attributes according to
your specified criteria.

Data modifications using Data Subsets are temporary.
You do not make any permanent changes to your data.

You can run Data Subsets either directly from
Execute a Test, or from Statistical Analysis.

SIMS 2000 will inform you whether or not qualifying attributes
exist to employ Data Subsets.

4. Edit Test Result .DAT File in Statistical Analysis

After you submit a test for Statistical Analysis, you
can edit the Data File (e.g., mytest.DAT) and resubmit
the script file (mytest.SAS) or Excel Export File (mytest.EXL) for
analysis.

  1. Select View Analysis Files Tab.
  2. Select Data File (.DAT) for File Type.
  3. Open the file you want to edit, and make changes.
  4. Save the file with the same name.
  5. Select Script File (.SAS) or Excel Export Info File (.EXL) as appropriate.
  6. Open the file you want to re-submit.
  7. Make any necessary changes, then click Submit.
