Microsoft Office 2013 was released Winter 2013.
Microsoft Office 2010 was released Spring 2012.
Microsoft Office 2007 was released Spring 2007.

Results from our SIMS 2000 testing at Sensory Computer Systems.

New MS Excel 2013:
All SIMS 2000 exports are 100% compatible. No visual differences, no surprises, and no gotchas. Good.

New MS Excel 2010 & 2007:

New MS Excel 2010 & 2007:
All SIMS 2000 exports are 100% compatible. No visual differences, no surprises, and no gotchas. Good.

New MS Word 2010 & 2007:
All SIMS 2000 exports are compatible. One non-critical visual difference is related to the default 'formatting' in Word 2007. The new “normal template” in Microsoft Word 2007 defaults to the Calibri font with one inch margins, AND Paragraph Spacing of 0 before and 10 after. All versions of Word up to now have defaulted to Paragraph Spacing of 0 before and 0 after. It’s the new 10 after that you may notice in your SIMS 2000 report exports.

Try this simple test: open Word 2007, type in “Hello World”, press Enter. Then highlight/select the previous sentence. See the new paragraph spacing?

This issue affects ALL of SIMS 2000 MS Word report exports, not just the advanced Table Generation Reports, even the more basic textual exports of the various other reports, especially the simple list style reports. If you have Microsoft Office 2007 and an older build of SIMS 2000, you've probably seen the difference. Lots of chatter on the Internet about this change by Microsoft, good & bad.

SIMS 2000 Update Available:
We’ve updated SIMS 2000 to better deal with the new Microsoft Word 2007 formatting. SIMS 2000 build date of May 9th, 2007 or newer.
